Slip Slip knit decrease (ssk)

Step 1: Begin with your working yarn and knitting needles.

Step 2: Slip the first stitch. Insert your right-hand needle into the first stitch on the left-hand needle as if you were going to knit it, but instead of knitting it, just slide it from the left needle to the right needle without knitting it. This is called a "slip."

Step 3: Slip the second stitch. Insert your right-hand needle into the second stitch on the left-hand needle as if you were going to knit it, and again, simply slide it from the left needle to the right needle without knitting it. You should now have two slipped stitches on your right-hand needle.

Step 4: Insert the left-hand needle into the front loops of the two slipped stitches on the right-hand needle, from left to right. You should insert the left needle into the front loops of these stitches as if you were going to knit them together.

Step 5: Wrap your yarn around the right-hand needle as if to knit, and pull the yarn through the two slipped stitches, creating a knit stitch.

Step 6: Slide both of the slipped stitches off the left-hand needle.

The "ssk" or Slip, Slip, Knit stitch is a knitting technique for decreasing stitches, producing a left-leaning slant. As with various decrease stitches, it is commonly employed in garment and accessory shaping or incorporated into lacework alongside other knitting stitches to form patterns or design elements.
