Knit two stitches together (k2tog)

Step 1: Hold your knitting needles with the stitches you want to decrease in your left hand, and the right-hand needle in your right hand.

Step 2: Insert the right-hand needle into the next two stitches on the left-hand needle. Insert it from left to right through the front leg of both stitches at the same time. Essentially, you're treating these two stitches as if they were one.

Step 3: Wrap the yarn counterclockwise around the right-hand needle, just as you would for a regular knit stitch.

Step 4: Carefully pull the right-hand needle back through the two stitches, still treating them as one.

Step 5: Slide both of the original stitches off the left-hand needle.

Step 6: You've now successfully knitted two stitches together, decreasing them to one stitch on your right-hand needle.

Step 7: Continue with your knitting pattern, working the next stitches as indicated.

The "K2tog" or knit two stitches together is a knitting decrease stitch that leans to the right. It's essentially the same as a regular knit stitch, except you knit two stitches together as one, effectively reducing the stitch count by one.
